Happy Birthday Chuck!

Last Wednesday was my brother-in-law’s 25th birthday. My mother-in-law made the best cake – EVER for him.

If you look closely your noticed the hand crafted monkey feet made from tootsie rolls. Soooo tasty!

Chuck Norris
Kelly and I were watching TV and commercial came on for the Bow Flex or something. And I made the comment that Chuck Norris is sixty years old now. Then he told me to go to google.com and type in, “How to find Chuck Norris.” So I did. You should do it right now and see what results you get. It’s awesome.

Working Mother
Kelly has started receiving the magazine, “Working Mother.” We don’t know why but it’s pretty funny.

Toilet

I was sitting on the couch in our basement and I heard Kelly grunt something I couldn’t quite understand from the downstairs bathroom.

“I just dropped a magazine I was about to read in the toilet.” He said.

I asked, “well, is it icky?”

“It’s soaking wet.”

“Um was there anything in the toilet except for water.”

He replied, “well, I had just peed in it.”

Ah, good times at the Keeton house.

Christine & Greg's Wedding! June 13th 2009

My cousin Christine and her now husband Greg got married last night at the Hansen Place in Sumner. The wedding and reception were beautiful and a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see the photographer’s pictures. These pictures are good (thank you for taking them Ken) but I don’t think they do the bride justice. She looked AMAZING last night and these pictures pale in comparison to the real thing.

Here are some pictures:

Me, pinning my Uncle Dave’s boutinier on. I am very good at this now after pinning the entire wedding party, fathers and mothers.

2nd Internship

I just got an email telling me where I’ll get to have my second our of three internships. I’ll be at Sunrise Elementary in the Kent School District (I was in the KSD). I’ll be in a first grade classroom. I’m SO excited! The best part is the school is only 2.2 miles from my house! I’ll start whenever school starts in the fall.

Fairwell Goats

The time came for us to sell the goats. They had gotten out countless times and all of our blackberry brambles had been eaten up. I didn’t really want to put the goats up for sale on craigslist because I wouldn’t know for sure that they would be well cared for. Before I sold them however I drove them out to this nice girl in Enumclaw to trim their hooves, de-worm them and put flea medication on them so they would be in tip top shape. They did not enjoy this field trip. I however thought it was pretty fun driving around our ‘73 Ford Ranger with goats in the back in Enumclaw. I felt like a true country bumpkin – and it felt good.

It turns out that one of my dad’s coworkers owns a few acres that need to be cleared so on Thursday the guy came over and drove Carmel and Lulu to his home in Burien. He was a super nice guy that seemed concerned for the goats well fair. He actually called them, “little critters.” It was pretty cute.

Here are some parting photos Kelly took of me with my goat babies.

Oak Harbor Weekend

Kelly and I went up to Oak Harbor on Memorial Day weekend. Here are some pictures from our adventures.

Trip to the drive-in:

We set up a little bed in the back of the truck. Kelly was extremely proud of it.

The people in front of us belonged to some weirdo Scientific Paranormal Investigator club. Strange.

A walk on the beach:

We quickly realized you can’t walk on this beach because you automatically sink into the sand/mud.

Fort Worden Weekend

Fort Worden 2009 034

This past weekend Kelly, my sister, her boyfriend, Mac, my parents and their two dogs all went camping at Fort Worden in Port Townsend. This has been a tradition of my family’s since before I was born. I look forward to it every year. We usually stay in the officer’s old homes but this year we all camped. We always go to the beach, shop in town, play games and eat a lot of food.

This year was a lot of fun because for the first time I brought my husband Kelly and my sister brought her boyfriend Mac. I am so glad that Mac and Kelly get along so well. Sometimes almost too well.

Mac’s Quotable Quotes

Over the weekend I got to know Mac better. Here are some quotable quotes from Mac:

“I’m not going to donate blood! They can die.”

When the camp host came and asked us if we needed anything Mac replied,

“um, how ‘bout a winning lottery ticket or a steak or an Asian prostitute.”

I can’t remember when the last time I laughed that hard at the look of the camp host’s face.

Raccoon Mischief

Early Saturday morning about three am Kelly, myself, my sister and Mac all woke up to something rustling through our food bins in our campsite. It turns out we were being robbed by a family of raccoons. They were able to pop the tops off of our Rubbermaid containers and get to all sorts of goodies. By the end of the weekend we had “given” the following to the raccoons:

1 box of giant Safeway cookies

1 loaf of bread

1 bag of hamburger buns

1 bag of hot dog buns

1 bag of cinnamon jolly ranchers

1 Costco container of red licorice
